About This Camp
The Leadership Camp focuses on the
leadership
1. of Jesus for the spiritual
growth and training of our youth. For
that reason this week is filled with
specific classes directed toward this
purpose. On Friday campers give
group presentations based on what
they learned during the week to show
their understanding and practical
application of the subject. This year
our theme is “Connecting with Jesus,”
which will explore the way media such
as texting, social networks, and daily
conversation can be an opportunity to
explore our connection with our Savior
and with those seeking a connection
with God. Along with our classes we
have nightly dinner themes, electives
including sports, crafts, swimming,
singing, and other special activities,
and specially designed nightly
activities. Our hope is that this week
is more than a youth camp, but an
opportunity for all to be more loving,
courageous, and faithful leaders in
Christ.
Gulf Coast Christian Youth
Camp
This year our camp will once again be held
at the Gulf Coast Christian Camp in
Columbus, Texas. Gulf Coast Christian
Youth Camp is situated on 12 acres of
rolling hills, surrounded by large live oak
trees. They have a beautiful
amphitheatre surrounded by a live oak
grove, a large covered pavilion with
basketball and volleyball courts, an
obstacle course and baseball field, a
playground and rope swing, a large
swimming pool, and all buildings are air
conditioned. The camp is located near
the Colorado River.
