WHATS NEXT?

Project

Conditions listed earlier support the need for

modernization of both Taylor and Warrenton

Limited resources require a focus on one project

We recommend Taylor as the top priority project for

the following reasons

Safety on Shirley Avenue

Parents, buses queue onto highway at drop off and dismissal

Interior and exterior building deterioration is greater

Accessibility is limited and student movement patterns

are awkward

Cafeteria and kitchen spaces are undersized and

inefficient

School parking is less than any other division school

except Southeastern, creating a safety issue as people
seek ways to maneuver into non-parking spaces

Process

Recommend the use of a steering committee to

engage stakeholders in a process to develop the
right project design

Include representatives of both the school board

and board of supervisors on the committee
