In local news
A group of black ministers and senate president Stephen Sweeny, asking president Dawood
Farahi of Kean University to resign after the tweets incident last week. The meeting for this
petition was held yesterday in at unknown location. The senior pastor of Newark claims that the
tweets are not coincidence due to the racial intolerance that had been allowed at the university
for years under president farahi. Also the racial tension is higher with the report of a lawsuit
against Kean University from a group of black females who claim to have been fired for racial
motives. Margaret McCorry, the University spokeswoman state last week that these are baseless
accusations and that the university is proud of its diversity levels.
Two females passed away yesterday in a fire and two other were hospitalized in Bergen county.
The females ranked between the ages 50s to 60s. They were living in a home that belongs to the
Alliance against Homeless. The fire tock place passed midnight and destroyed the second floor
of the home. And officer was injured in the leg trying to rescue one of the females. The staff is
devastated said David Moore the president of Non-profit. The prosecutors office at Bergen
County is investigating the sinister.

In national news
Traveling this thanksgiving week constitutes longer lines and a much higher security due to the
recent terrorist attacks in Paris, France and the alerts of bombings. Even though theres no
concerning information of a similar attack directed to the US. About 47 million people travel
around more than 50 miles to go see their families on thanksgiving and about 42 of those million
choose to drive to their traveling destination. The TSA is not disclosing which are the higher
security methods to be used; however random checks can be expected. The good news is that
the prices for this traveling week are the lowest since 2008.
49 percent of Americans claim that racism is a big problem and its on the rise. There has been a
big change from the past two decades. The demographics show that in 1995 due to the O.J.
Simpson trial the percentage was about 41 percent. 16 years later in 2011 the percentage
significantly went down to a 28 percent and know in 2015 the percentage has increases higher
than in 1995 with a 49 percent. The key is too look for that common ground because racism
hasnt disappear.
In international news
The supreme court of Mexico has open the road to legalizing marijuana. Last Wednesday a small
group ruled to use the drug legally. This will potentially open the door to a nationwide
legalization and a new issue with a drug war that has destroyed the country with their violence.
The decision allows for members of a group to transport, consume and plant the recreational
drug. The president of Mexico Enrique Pena Nieto has opposed drug use, however he respects
and recognizes the decisions of the Supreme Court. The legalization of marijuana in other

countries of America is being in consideration. Uruguay was the first one to do it in December
2013.
