The Congressional Spouses Foundation Inc. (CSFI), led by its President and Chairperson, Quezon City Vice Mayor Josefina Joy Belmonte, recently held its traditional Christmas giftgiving to chosen beneficiaries at the North lobby of the House of Representatives. Dubbed as Sharing Joy, the organization provided Christmas cheers and happiness to 482 chosen ground personnel from agencies attached to the House of Representatives, namely: Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) 22; Philippine National Police (PNP) 29; Day Care Center 29; Grounds Maintenance Group 95; Lockheed Security Group 132; Housekeeping Utilities Group 121; Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) 10 and Department of Public Works (DPWH) 19 through packed lunches and pails of Noche Buena goodies to show their appreciation to these people. The event was hosted by Ms. Looie Lobregat-Ocampo and Ms. Grace Kristine SingsonMeehan, daughters of Reps. Celso Lobregat (1 st District, Zamboanga City) and Eric Singson (2 nd District, Ilocos Sur), respectively, who together with several spouses present headed by CSFI Executive Director Ms. Paula Camille Bondoc, treated their beneficiaries to nine raffle draws of several SM gift certificates ranging from P500 to P2.500; four bags of 5-kilo-rice; four units electric fan; 10 pieces of Purefoods ham; four pieces Orocan plastic cabinet; four pieces sleeping mats; two pieces comforter; three pieces Megabox plastic cabinet; two pieces two Orocan dishwashing drainer and a grand prize of one unit Samsung Galaxy Tab-3 with 4G SmartBro Pocket Wi-Fi. Representatives from each agency gave their acceptance message as their way of showing their gratitude to the congressional spouses. The Grounds Maintenance Group was represented by Mr. Ardean Young, Teacher Apple Garcia of the HRep Day Care Center, SFO3 Robert Joe Lagnasaon of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), P/SRSupt. Willy Perez Atum of the Philippine National Police (PNP), SO William Cruz of Lockheed Security Guard and Ms. Lydia Avancea of the Housekeeping Utilities Group. The audience was also treated with song and dance numbers from each group to the delight of the crowd. Other spouses present were Mrs. Cora Guanlao, wife of Rep. Agapito Guanlao (Party-list- BUTIL), Mr. Romy De Jesus, husband of Rep. Emmi De Jesus (Party-list, Gabriela, Atty. Cyphrine Maxcel Dalog, daughter of Rep. Maximo Dalog (Lone District, Mountain Province) and Mr. Egay Rubiano, husband of Rep. Emi Calixto-Rubiano (Lone District, Pasay City). The CSFI is a non-stock, non-profit organization composed of 270 spouses, siblings and children of members of the House of Representatives that conducts socio-civic activities to help reduce poverty, foster education, rehabilitate abused women, promote tourism and sharing of best practices across regions.
