themselves.T.Ss ask the Ss to write their names on a paper. Good morning children! How are you today? My name is Andreea and my colleague is Denisa.
We are going to spend almost an hour
together and we hope youll enjoy it.
Warm-up activity
T.Ss stick several pictures with birds on the 5
board and give the Ss some worksheets. The Ss have to write the name of each bird correctly because they are in a wrong order. The birds will be: stork, eagle, seagull, swallow, blackbird, owl, bowerbird, sparrow, flamingo and ostrich. Example: wol owl The unkown words will be written on the blackboard and explained if its necessary.
Introducing the topic
T.Ss introduce the topic by asking the Ss if
they know something about bowerbirds. The Ss will open the books and read the text in order to find out more information about this unusual bird. T.Ss will introduce the new vocabulary: shells, bark, bottle tops, feathers. T.Ss will write on the board the unkown words and explain them.

Presentation and Reading

T.Ss will stick on the board a picture with a 10
bowerbird in order to write the main characteristics of bowerbirds. The Ss will be given the same picture to stick it in their notebooks and they will write the characteristics of bowerbirds around the picture. The T.Ss will ask some questions related to the text and Ss will answer them. Where does the bowerbirds live? Who bilds the bower?

T.Ss ask the Ss to look at exercise A and
answer the following questions: 1.Where do bowerbirds live? 2.Does the male build the nest? The Ss will work in pairs, one student will read the question and another will answer it. The Ss will do exercise B where they have to state if the sentences are True ot False. 1. The bower is high up.F 2. The males decorate the bower.T 3. The females find bright colours attractive.T 4. Male bowerbirds build the nest.F 5. The males can paint with a painbrush.T T.Ss ask the Ss to look at exercise C at page 16 and read the dialogue. They will listen to a tape and they have to correct the words in italics. The Ss will read in pairs the dialogue with the correct answers.
