This course is designed as an intensive reading program to help build the reading skills of beginning level
non-native speakers of English. The focus is on reading comprehension, vocabulary development, reading
speed, and study skills.

The course aims to help the students achieve a reasonable and age-appropriate, but higher
level of proficiency in reading as a subject. The objectives include the following:
Cognitive: Widen students vocabulary and practice critical thinking skills
Affective: Relate personal experiences and develop genuine love for reading.
Psychomotor: Apply reading and study strategies and participate in class
presentations and discussion.
The course is strongly dedicated to implement and correlate Biblical principles throughout
the learning continuum to maintain balance and exercise prudence in dealing with relevant
and practical issues of our society.
