Thank you to members and friends of Aldersgate for your many
expressions of love and care at the recent death of my beloved sister.

Ringers Wanted
The Aldersgate Ringers are looking for several more ringers. We
rehearse on Tuesday evenings in the Sanctuary from 6:00 pm to 7:15
pm., and ring about every six weeks for the 11:00 am service (and
occasionally for the 9:00 am service). We are happy to teach you the
basics of handbell ringing. Please contact Melody Day at 434.906.3919
or melody@daysongstudio.com.
Our goal is to provide 50 sundresses for the young girls in the Robert
Ford Haitian Orphanage. Dr. Dave Reynolds will deliver the dresses to
the orphanage when he goes on a medical mission trip to Cap-Haitian in
April. We need your help to make this dream come true. If you are
interested in assisting with this project, please consider the following
opportunities:
Join others in sewing the dresses. During February, the Busy Hands
Fellowship will be coordinating sewing sessions in the Reed Room on
Thursdays from 11am to 2 pm. All skill levels are welcome for cutting,
pinning, sewing, and ironing the dresses. Bring a bag lunch.
Provide fabric for dresses. Each dress requires 1 - 1 yards of 100%
cotton fabric.
Donate notions. Small pieces of lace, decorative buttons, etc.
Make and/or donate bias tape for dresses. Each dress requires 2
yards of bias tape.
Make a monetary donation for purchase of fabric. Please make
checks payable to AUMC, notation Dresses for Haitian Orphanage.
Cash donations are welcome.
Ash Wednesday
Pastor Scott will be at the Starbucks across from the Fashion Square
Mall on Route 29 from 6:30 - 9:30 am and Mike Thornton and Rachel
Miller will be in the church parking lot just off Rio Road. You may stop
by either location to receive the imposition of the ashes (a fancy word
that means we'll make a cross on your forehead with ashes) and prayer.
MESSIAH
An Oratorio in Three Parts, by George Frideric Handel
A change has been made in the plans for "Messiah." Now, a video of a
performance, performed by the Choir of King's College, Cambridge, will
be shown in the Sanctuary on March 6, from 2:30 pm to about 5:00 pm.
There will be an intermission of about 10 to 15 minutes after Part 1.
If you don't have this much time to spare, or wish to listen only to
your favorite parts, please feel free to come and go as you wish.
