housing. Because of
my mothers sacrifices,
I was able to be the
first in my family to
graduate from college.
I want to represent
our communities
in Springfield so I
can fight for better
jobs and continue
my work helping to
bring educational
opportunities to our
neighborhoods. I will
always show up and
fight for you and our
community.

GENITA was raised by a teenage mother and grew up in

Section 8 housing. Genita has never forgotten what it is like to
live paycheck to paycheck. That is why she has spent her career
fighting for better education opportunities and safer streets. In
Springfield she will fight for better jobs in our neighborhoods
while taking on Rauner, who is hurting middle class families.
She will fight for paid sick leave and work towards tougher gun
laws.
