Name of incident: Robbery at “NEW ERA JEWELLERS”.

Date and Time: 2:55PM, 18 JUNE 2009.

Names of suspects: Mrs. Eva Chinoy, Mr. Masud Hassan, Mr. Asif Jan,

Ms. Simi Aziz.

At 10 am on 18th June 2009 a white DATSUN van, license number RIT 7868 drove into the car
parking on MAIN Street opposite to the NATIONAL BANK. It was probably driven by a woman as
stated by the car park attendant. This car was reported stolen the morning of the robbery. The
records shows that the car was parked at 10:00am, then taken out at about 2:40pm and was
returned 20 minutes later at about 3:00pm.

At 1:30 pm that evening Mrs. Eva Chinoy owner of DATSUN LHE 2197 drove her friend Ms. Aziz
to Elegance Hair Salon in Main street and parked the car in the car park opposite to the salon.
And then went for a snack at NADEEM’S Restaurant, which is in CAT Lane round the corner
from the salon. There she sat in non-smoking section, after her meal she lit a cigarette and the
manager asked her to extinguish it, and there was an argument between the manager and
Mrs.Chinoy. She paid her bill and left the restaurant about 2:30pm. The manager remembers
her well because of the incident. She came back to the car park, waited for Ms. Aziz in her van.
Ms. Aziz showed up at about 3:30pm then they went home.

At 2:30pm Mr. Masud Hassan owner of DATSUN GAL 4929 drove his friend Mr. Asif Jan to
National Bank in Park Street and parked his car in the car park opposite to the bank and waited
for Mr. Jan in his van.

In the bank Mr. Jan ordered a draft and was asked to wait for 30 minutes. He waited in the
lobby which was very crowded. He showed up at the cashier’s counter just after 3:00pm to get
his draft. The cashier remembers giving him the draft. He returned to Ms. Masud at 3:20pm.
And they went home.

One of the robbers did not spoke a single word during the whole robbery, they wore loose
clothes. There is a possibility that one was a woman among the two robbers. It might had
happened that Mr. Jan taking the advantage of the crowd came out of the bank unnoticed.
Mrs. Chinoy and Mr. Jan came to the car park where Mr. Hassan was waiting for them in the
DATSUN RIT 7868. All three of them drove to the NEW ERA JEWELLERS at 2:40pm. They reached
there about 2:46pm, wore the Dentist coats, Mickey Mouse masks, and picked up the Gun and
the Hammer. They went into the jeweler shop and committed the robbery about 2:50pm.

They ran out of the shop and jumped into the van which was waiting for them. Then they came
back to the car park at about 3:00pm. Mr. Jan went into the bank and showed up at the cashier
counter just after 3:00pm to collect his draft. While Mrs. Chinoy and Mr. Hassan went back to
their own vans and waited for Ms. Aziz and Mr. Jan.

There is a possibility that Ms. Aziz is involved too. As the card of Elegance Hair Salon was found
under the front seat of the white DATSUN RIT 7868 used by the robbers to getaway. And it was
parked by a woman early that morning.

In the view of the above, it seems likely that the robbery was carried out by Mr.Asif Jan and
Mrs. Eva Chinoy and that the getaway van was driven by Mr. Masud Hassan. This van was
probably driven to the car park earlier in the day by Ms. Simi Aziz. We therefore recommend
that all four suspects be brought in for further questioning.
