Time: 15min - 20min (max)

Objective: To develop listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Materials: mp3/ipod, speakers (AUX cable).
Warm-up song (Louis Armstrong Wonderful World)
Song for lesson (Michael Jackson Beat It)
Set-up: Divide class into groups of 4 (depending on class size).

the class if students are familiar with the artist/song. Also ask the class/student their
favourite type of music and artist.
Warm-up: While A Wonderful World is playing, students will draw whatever comes to
their mind for about 1min. Then, stop the class and have the students swap their
paper with another student and tell them to continue drawing. Ask the class/student(s)
to come up the class and tell the story of their picture.
Activity: 1) Students will listen to the song being played in the classroom.
2) Students are then given the lyrics but with incorrect words that do not
follow
the song.
3) The song will be played 2 more times where students are now going to
identify and circle the incorrect words. Provide the circled words with the
original lyric
the best you can.
4) Upon completion, each group will tell the instructor the number of errors
they found
- total of 14 errors
The group with the correct number of errors identified and with the most
number of corrections
will win a prize.
5) Open discussion about the song (ex: the message the artist is trying to
tell us)
Follow-up: Enhance the students listening skill not only to music but to everyday
