help out.

Students have earned another party and they voted to have their video camp out party. They can bring a sleeping
bag/blanket, pillow, one stuffed animal, slippers, junk food and a closeable drink. Thank you for your support!

Testing Dates and Information

MAP TESTS: Please make sure your child is in school on the following dates for testing. These are the tests that
we set goals for and discussed at conferences. Please help to make sure your child eats breakfast and get a good
night sleep. The results should be given to the students within a day or two of taking the tests and you will get a
handout with their entire MAP testing history, usually included with the end of the year report card.

May 6 – MAP Reading Test

May 12 – MAP Math Test
May 14 – MAP Language Test
May 19 – STAR/AR Test

MCA TESTS: Results will be mailed directly to you home sometime this summer.

Kids Against Hunger – Friday, May 7th, 9:30-11:00 – Need Volunteers

We will be bussing to the mall and packaging food with the money we have collected all year long. They will get to
see what all of their saving of pennies has purchased to help feed other starving children! Please consider coming
with to help out.

Summer Reading/Public Library Information (orange handout in home folder)

They do not offer AR this summer due to our computer systems being down from construction, but they do offer
many wonderful reading opportunities. Reading coaches are on a first come-first serve basis, and calls will be
accepted starting May 11th to reserve one. Students take the STAR test in the fall of 4th grade and get placed by
that testing result for AR, not where they ended in 3rd grade, so it is important to keep reading over the summer!

Water Bottles
I asked the students to bring one in if they want to continue to get drinks in the classroom. I have gone through
about 200 hard covered cups, and about 400 paper cups and I am out.

No AR Reports Until Monday

This is due to goals being completed on Friday.

Auction Items Needed by Monday

This Week: What was the date of the first day of spring this year?
Answer: March 20th
Next Week: Which state has only one syllable?

We are still at 6 heifers and 6 steers. We have 4 cows yet to give birth, but they are sure taking their time! Two
of them are not showing as much so this contest could last until the end of the school year! I will keep you posted!

Have a great weekend!
