Next Week on exploring expository text. The students read a Monday-Day 1: PE/Music variety of nonfiction materials and studied text Tuesday-Day 2: Comp/Library features to help them better understand what they Wednesday-Day 3: PE/Music were reading. We also continued with our Thursday- Day 4: Art classroom read-a-loud- The Beloved Dearly. Friday- Day 1: PE/Music Please make sure your child is reading at home and recording his/her minutes. It helps to keep a running total of the minutes so your student doesnt get to the end of the month and have no way to make their 400 minute goal. Please also be checking in with your student about his/her reading to make sure he/she isnt picking material that is too difficult. Ask a few questions to see if Upcoming Events they are understanding what they are reading. th Oct. 11 -Fire Dept. Open House 7-9pm Thank you! This week in math we continued to work on Unit October 14th Family Game Night th th th October 17 , 18 & 19 Goal Setting 1-Multiplication and Division Word Problems. We also spent time analyzing and creating bar graphs. Conferences The 4th graders took their first quick quiz this week. October 19th- No School- Morning Look for that in the Friday folder. They did well! Goal Setting Conferences We encourage you to continue to go over math October 20th and 21st - No School- MEA work and facts at home with your son or daughter! Convention In social studies, we started learning about the October 28th Wear Pink Day Northeast region. The kids started on their region October 31st - Wacky Tacky Day map as well.

On October 28th we will all try to wear something
pink in honor of Womens/Girls Health Month. If your child doesnt have anything pink, thats ok. It is strictly voluntary. Enjoy the cool fall weekend! Mr. Kost
