Open House. I wanted to take this opportunity to explain that a
conference at the end of the first quarter is mandatory for every- one and then after the first quarter only required if requested by the teacher or parent. However, if you have concerns you do not have to wait until the end of a quarter to meet with me. You are always welcome to conference with me at any time regarding your child. Please do not hesitate to email me for an appoint- ment (see my email address in bottom left hand corner.)
This week we are reading, Unit 1-Week 2 Exploring Space. Regarding homework, please help your child get off to a good start with consistent completion of their homework. Please see the Take Home folder for the weekly homework spelling assignments on the bottom right hand side of the folder or look under the homework tab on our class website. Your child should be coming home with a library book every night in order to fulfill the 20 minute reading requirement (they may also read books from source other than the library.) Please make sure that they return the library books to school EVERYDAY. Regarding your childs Reading goal for this quarter, it is best to ask your child daily how they are doing on their Reading goal. We graph our progress so that they know how they are doing and they should be able to communicate that progress to you.
This Week Reminders Spelling words for the week can be found at spellingcity.com Please review the lunch menu with your child. Water bottles! Snack should be sent in everyday!
