This Week
This week we will begin Unit 5-Week 5
The Signmakers Assistant.
Spring Break is the third and final Personal Narrative that your child will be writing. Just as with
the Thanksgiving and Winter Break, have your
child fill out the Personal Narrative Graphic Organizer so that they can return to school with it
and begin writing about their Spring Break. I
have attached the graphic organizer to the last
email I sent you. It is also available under the
Young Authors tab on our classroom website and
Ill be sending home a hard copy this week.
This is crunch time for Young Authors completion. I will be sending home periodic updates on
what your child is missing that they can make up
at home. The book is not mandatory so if you and
your child choose to not participate then that is
acceptable.

We have been learning about Nutrition this

month and I like to introduce the students to new
foods. They have tried kohlrabi and kiwis which
were a new food for many of them. If your family
eats an unusual fruit or veggie and you would like
to send in some chopped (into bite size) pieces
then I will share them with the class.

Take a practice spelling

quiz with a family member. Bring it in to me.

Write 4 sentences using:

read and reed.
Write a five sentence
minimum paragraph on
each of the animal classifications.
Practice your multiplication and division fact
families.
Practice counting by 2sand 10s.
Design a menu for the
day using what was
learned in MyPlate.
And/or anything else creative you can think of!

Reminders:
Regarding tardies per DoDEA policy, a child will be
marked tardy after 8:05. Students arriving after this
time MUST be accompanied by an adult to get a tardy
slip from the office.
