Homework
Homework expectations* Reading every night for 10 or so minutes in a book at YOUR childs level!
* Complete, as time allows, the Math supplied in the Weekly Folder.
(To be completed and returned on lhe last school day of the week.)

Reading Emphasis
Phonemic Awareness- Blending sounds and segmenting words
Phonics Sounds- word clusters with l as in; clown, flag, glass, plane, sled,
Comprehension- Drawing Conclusions- Using what you already know to figure out what
people will say or do.

Math
I was premature in telling you we would start an new unit last week. THIS week we will begin
reviewing Math Mountains.
We are beginning a new unit in Math this week. Be sure to read the parent letter describing what
the children will be learning. Its a REALLY cool way of thinking about numbers, and very visual for
the children. Ask them about Math Mountains.
