Pinch Valve Sleeves

Accurate and repeatable linear flow control.

Drop tight, bi-directional shut-off.
Abrasion resistant and self-cleaning
valves for:

• Wastewater Treatment Plants - sludge control, raw sewage, flow

equalization, lime control, polymer feed systems, grit systems
• Food & Beverage Plants
• Power Industry
• Chemical Industry - corrosive slurry, emulsive chemicals,
powders
• Mining
• Cement, sand, silica
• Power Industry
• Pneumatic Conveying

VALVE OPERATION
The design principle is very simple - two mechanical pinch
bars (or compressed air) open and close the elastometer
sleeve. The pinching action is on centerline, so the valve
closes on a smooth venturi and is self-cleaning.

The sleeve is the heart of every Pinch Valve, providing the The sleeve’s flexibility allows the valve to close drop-

Since the sleeve is the only wetted part of the valve, there that could damage the valve.
is no need for expensive metal alloys to be used in the body
of the valve. This design also eliminates fugitive emissions,
and the packing and seats that are responsible for most valve
maintenance.

MATERIALS
The flow pattern of a Pinch Valve is streamlined, even when

Neoprene, Hypalon, Chlorobutyl, Buna-N,
EPDM and Viton.
The full-port design of the sleeve is ideal for slurry and solids
handling where an unobstructed flow path is essential. In
throttling applications, the sleeve maintains a laminar flow for
better control with less cavitation.

Because the sleeve is the only wetted part, it is also the only
replacement part.

The sleeve is constructed much like a heavy-duty truck tire, with

bias-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber providing the structural support
of the sleeve.

All sleeves feature full face integral flanges in which the ply and
tube extent through the entire valve length and up the face of
the flange.

The Standard sleeve is a highly specialized component, and

great care is taken to match the type of rubber used to provide
a product that will give a long, maintenance-free service life.
It’s 100% full-port, and is like a pipe in-line. The flow remains
streamlined when throttling.

Double Wall sleeves are called for in extremely abrasive

slurries, and also high-pressure applications. A double-wall
sleeve provides 3-times the wear thickness of a standard
sleeve. The port of a double wall sleeve is one line size smaller
than its corresponding flange size.

Cone sleeves are designed for control applications. They

provide tighter control with a 20:1 turndown ratio and 0.89
recovery factor, along with an extra thickness of elastomer
downstream for wear resistance. Because pressure recovery
occurs downstream, cone sleeves can handle a higher pressure
drop than other sleeve designs.

Variable Orifice sleeves are designed for high-turndown

control applications. They provide a 29:1 turndown ratio and a
special design that helps to eliminate cavitation.
