Executive Summary
Gfive is a fast growing Mobile Phone Company in Pakistan. It was
started in 2003 with Ali Baba Group. Today, Gfive is considered to
be at par with multinationals operating locally in terms of its
quality products and management skills. We have conducted a
HR Practices Analysis of Gfive.
The difference between the success & failure is doing things right
and doing things nearly right, & Gfive has always tried for success
& that is why it is known to be one of the leading organizations in
Pakistan. Irrespective of all these positive points of Gfive, We
have noticed a few areas where the improvement can really
increase the efficiency of Gfive.
In this report we have given a very brief review of what we have
seen and noticed during our survey. We mentioned about the
Mission of Gfive and its History, Organizational Structure,
Products and its share in Pakistan Economy. Then, we discussed
about HR Practices of Gfive in details.
Finally, we discussed the grand future strategies of Gfive, given
recommendations that how improvements can be made and
ended the project with a conclusion.

company specializes in manufacturing mobile phones, smartphones to emerging

In the second quarter of 2010, G'Five sold 5 million mobile handsets, becoming the
tenth largest manufacturer of mobile phones worldwide.

GFIVE has been in the phone market for quite some time, infect longer than Q-mobile
or United Mobile with their Voice series of smartphones. Unlike Q-mobile, GFIVE is a
multinational corporation having operations in over 10 countries, currently they sell the
most budget friendly smartphones.

Gfive current flagship phone is Gfive President G10. It is a
smartphone with a total of 5.7 inches full HD of display, and
President G10 by Gfive is equipped with a Quad-Core 1.7 GHZ
processor with 32 GB ROM, 1 GB RAM, and with the 13.0 MP
back camera, 5.0 MP front-facing camera.

Gfive had launched 5 high-end smartphones under G Cloud range of internet

can easily synchronize data to laptops etc. Even if user lost his/her mobile he/she can
just transfer all the data by one touch on his new phone's G Cloud service.

The company compares Actual state with Desired state (if there is a gap between actual

The Gfive uses Centralized approach for decision making. The Higher management
make all decision. There is no involvement of mid-level of lower level management in
decision making process.

evaluate. Gfive normally do not conduct development lessons for employees.

Employee benefits include various types of non-wage compensation provided to
employees in addition to their normal wages or salaries. Now the Question is does Gfive
facilitate its employees?
The answer is Gfive does not provide any kind of non-wage compensation to its
employees. The Reason according to HR Manager of Gfive, Due to high unemployment rate in Pakistan, People are ready to work at any cost and condition, thats
why they do not provide any kind of Non-wage rewards and compensation to its
employees.

Salary Structure
Gfive do not design such comprehensive salary structure they like to keep it simple i.e.
all the salary they give is all basic.

Performance
Gfive keep an eye on performance of employee, so they can notice him and according
to it they make decision whether he can continue with company or not, or if he is ready
to get promotion for upper post.

Bonuses
Gfive gives bonuses to its employees according to the target they achieved that year, if
achieved they give bonuses if not they may cut money from the employees income to
overcome companys loss.

Conclusion
In this era of technology, the Information is the key to success in the business. This
means that the successful businessman will be who will have the right information at the
right time. This comment leads to the conclusion that the Information Sharing Process
should really be improved.
The overall analysis is indicating that the companys progress has mainly attained
through dedication of employees. The effectiveness of its management, their willingness
to take advantage of opportunities and face challenges of changing economic picture,
this all contributes to the very much improved and sound position of company. This is
really appreciable for the devotion and hard work of all the employees of the company.

No organization is perfect, need of improvement is always there. So our opinion some
of things we would like to recommend are as follows,

Recommendations for Improvement are:


At present the company is not giving any kind of Non-Wage rewards to
employees. The organization should give non-wage rewards to its employees to
maintain its employees.
Medical facilities are not given to its employees, such facilities should be given to
employees.
Different training courses should be arranged for the up lifting and improving the
quality of work for employees.
They provide transportation facility to only female employees I think male should
also be provided with conveyance convenience. This will create the easiness for
workers and reduce the wastage of time.
There is also a problem of work overload for the employees and it should be
control properly so that the employees are motivated.
Employees should be paid extra for the work which they done after working
hours.
