Amber Fort
Popularly known as residence of Begum Jodha, the Amber fort is a dening image of Jaipur. A must
see attraction on your travel itinerary; the Amber fort is iconic and royal in its every bit. The Suraj
Pole, the sun confronting the royal entrance of the fort, is a masterly blend of Hindu and Mughal
architecture. The other marvels of the fort include the Ganesh Pol, Sila Devi temple, Sheesh Mahal,
Magic Flower fresco and Maan Singh Palace.
If you would like to add some thrill to your journey, take an elephant ride up to the fort. Also, to enjoy

Hawa Mahal
A popular landmark of Jaipur, the palace of winds or Hawa Mahal, was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap
Singh for royal women to view the bustling streets of Johari Bazaar, while staying veiled behind the
windows. Make your way to the top and enjoy a similar view.

Jantar Mantar
Taking pride of having the largest sundial in the world, Jantar Mantar is a world heritage site that
showcases how modern science mingled with traditional knowledge of astrology. In order to grab its
full essence, one must take a guided tour (30 minutes to 1 hr) and would cost Rs. 100.

Jal Mahal
Standing erect on the Man Sagar Lake and constructed by Sawai Pratap Singh in the year 1799, Jal
Mahal or the Water palace is a unique attraction in Jaipur. Its grandeur lies in its location as the palace
cum hotel is surrounded by the lake giving a spectacular view. The palace boasts the classical blend of
Rajput and Mughal architecture. Made of red sandstone, it is a ve-storeyed building where only the
top storey is visible to the naked eye. Although, the palace looks breath-taking all the time, views
from this dazzling palace is more captivating during the rainy season. It has beauty in its core and, of
course, it should be there in your travelling checklist to Jaipur.

Jaigarh Fort
The Jaigarh fort which seems to articulate the sagas of Rajputana bravery and prowess was once a
royal treasury and defence system of Amber. A majestic fort, this site is an embodiment of walls,
watchtowers and bastions. The sight of Jaiwan, the largest moving canon in Asia, is the main
attraction of the fort which was used only once in its lifetime. When there, dont forget to visit its
armoury section (Vijay Garh) to get a glimpse of legendry Rajput spirit.

City Palace
Carrying the throne of Maharaja in the past, the grand architecture of the City Palace speaks for the
strong alliance of Rajput and Mughal styles. The palatial complex is home to several other small
attractions including Mubarak Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Diwan-i-khaas, Diwan-i-Aam and Maharani
Palace.
Behind this palace is the Chandra Mahal which is still the royal residence of the successors of the royal
family.

Govind Dev Jee Temple


Jaipur is home to an array of temples, one of which is the famous Govind Dev Jee temple. One of the
oldest temples, the temples is visited by millions of followers. Devoted to Lord Krishna, the temple is
also famous for its grand architecture.

Laxmi Narayan Temple/ Birla Temple
The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his various Avataars. Its impressive architecture is a result
of elaborated carvings in its inner walls which makes it a masterpiece. It is adorned with light effects
at night which enhances its beauty manifold and one must not miss the opportunity to witness it.

Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh
Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh for his second wife, a Sisodia princess, the verdant gardens allows
witnessing royalty and grandeur in its full form. It is donned with murals representing the eternal love
story of Radha-krishna and many anecdotes from wars in history.

Nahargarh Fort
Popularly known as the Tiger fort, the Nahargarh Fort was used as the summer residence by the
nobility. Reach the top for a grand view of the city especially in the evening. Pay some homage at the
temple of Nahar Singh Bhomia, who seemingly haunted the site and evaded any attempts of
construction. Remember Masti ka Pathshaala? Yes, the song was shot here only. Visit and see
yourself.
