The first online NMAT had 120 questions compared to 150 in the paper pencil version.
However, NMAT maintained its 3 section format.
The three sections were:
-

Language Skills
Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency
Logical Reasoning

Like earlier NMATs, some of the questions were extremely simple.

Overall, the NMAT 2010 test was of an easy to moderate difficulty level and a student with
an above average grasp of concepts could have attempted around 90 to 110 questions in
the allotted time frame. Speed was the key to success as the accuracy may not have
dropped below a certain level in such an easy test.

The overall cut-off is expected to be 100+. Calls for the GDPI stage will also depend on past
academic record and work experience of the candidates.

Language Skills 32 Questions

The Language Skills section was a mixed bag of a large number of lessons. The RC passages
were easy and short and the wrong options could be easily eliminate in most RC questions.
The non-RC questions were spread across synonyms, antonyms, jumbled sentences,
multiple fill in the blanks, arguments, assumptions, courses of action, and error spotting.
These questions could have been attempted very fast.

Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency - 48 Questions

There were a fair number of Arithmetic and Basic Geometry questions. Especially in some
of the slots, as many as 5 questions were asked from a single lesson like Time and Work.
Surprisingly, the questions from Numbers were relatively tricky.
Comparatively, the 2-3 Data Sufficiency questions were very easy whereas the Data
Interpretation questions were direct but calculation intensive and hence time-consuming.
The Data Interpretation questions could have been entirely avoided to save time and the
rest of the questions in this section should have been attempted.

Logical Reasoning 40 Questions

The LR questions were of a moderate difficulty level. In general, this section was not very
difficult. The fact that there were quite a few single questions made it slightly more time
consuming.

Note: With due respect to Non-Disclosure Agreement of NMAT 2010, we are not presenting
here the exact breakup of questions from different lessons/topics, style and type of
questions.
