Checking
906-23.1
Check of Accumulators on Hydraulic
Cylinder Unit
Check of the hydraulic accumulator can only be
done with stopped engine and with stopped
electrical hydraulic pumps
1, Mount the pressure gauge at “minimess”
point 455. Check the pressure.
Close the high pressure inlet valve 420 and
open the high pressure outlet valve 421 to
drain all oil out of the hydraulic cylinder
unit, Check that the hydraulic cylinder unit
is pressure free.
Mount the pressure gauge connected with
a “minimess” hose on the accumulator.
Check the nitrogen pressure.
For correct pressure, see Data D06-204.
For use of pressure setting tool, see step 4
Caution!
Charge pressure check intervals:
1) First week of service
2) 4 month later
3) Every 6 month
* Always check
= Check for leakages at minimess
- Always mount the minimess cap after
check and charging
It is recommended, that these checks are
logged for later use and documentation.

coupling No. 340, Check the pressure.
Open valve 315 to release the hydraulic
pressure from the system and drain all oil
out of the accumulators.
3. Check on the pressure gauge that the sys-
tem is pressure free.
Mount the pressure gauge connected with
a “minimess” hose on the accumulator.

Use of Reducing Valve as Pressure Setting
Tool
4. Assemble the reducing valve as shown in
the figure, and mount the reducing valve on
the nitrogen cylinder. If necessary, use a
threaded adaptor.
Before mounting the filling hose on the ac-
cumulator, check that the accumulator top
is clean
Check that valves A and D are closed.
Mount the filling hose on the relevant accu-
mulator with the charging tool E
It is now possible to read the actual nitro-
gen pressure in the accumulator on the dial
gauge C on the filling valve.
If the accumulator needs to be refilled with
nitrogen, open valve A and adjust the outlet
pressure on spindle B to 0.1 - 0.2 MPa
above the pressure stated in the Pressure
Adjustment Table. See Data 006-204.
Keep valve A open until the accumulator is
filled.
Close valve A.
Wait five minutes for the temperature to
stabiles.
Check the pressure in the accumulator on
gauge C according to the Pressure Adjust-
ment Table. See Data D06-204.
Adjust the pressure in the accumulator at
bleed screw D
Unscrew the charging tool E to remove the
filling hose from the accumulator.

Note!
Great care must be taken to ensure that
the area around the workplace is clean
before and during assembly of the
hydraulic system.
Dismantling of Accumulators from Hydraulic
Cylinder Unit
Notet
All operation of valve 420 and 421 must
only be performed on a stopped engine
with stopped hydraulic pumps.
1. Connect a pressure gauge at “minimess”
point 455. Check the pressure.
Close the high pressure inlet valve 420 and
open the high pressure outlet valve 421 to
drain all oil out of the accumulator.
Check that the hydraulic cylinder unit is
pressure free.
Look the valve
2. Turn the square to closed, lift off the locking
disc
Turn the locking disc 180° and place it on
the square again to lock the valve.

Dismantling
3. Dismount the accumulator from the hydrau-
lic cylinder unit.
Dismantling of Accumulators from Hydraulic
Power Supply Unit
4. Dismantling of accumulators can only be
performed on a stopped engine and with
stopped hydraulic pumps.
Mount a pressure gauge on the “minimess”
coupling No. 340 on the accumulator block
and check the pressure.
Open valve 315 on the accumulator block
to release the hydraulic pressure from the
system.
Check on the pressure gauge that the sys-
tem is pressure free.
5. The accumulators on the hydraulic power
supply unit are dismounted as shown
Remove the accumulator from the flange.

Overhaul
3. 1, Remove the accumulator.
a See Procedure 906-23.2.
‘ear 2. Use the pressure setting tool to drain the
accumulator of nitrogen gas.
See Procedure 906-23.1.
3. Lift the accumulator by the lifting tool and
put it on the holding tool.
Fit the accumulator on the holding tool by
the screws.
3 4. Overhaul the accumulator by the following
method,
1)Remove the gas valve and retaining ring
from the top cover.
4
2)Fit the overhauling tool with the accumu-
gasvave o 7 lator, screw the both end of studs to the
shell and screw the coupling on the top
=H fan cover of accumulator.
in Fwamngring Make sure that the coupling is contacted
coupling If with the top cover.
3)Push the top cover downward until the
rn spacer and sectional ring can be
t 7 removed by turning the handle to the
T clockwise direction.

5. Carefully check the condition of the bladder
and replace it with new one, if necessary.
Apply the grease on the surface of the blad-
der and inside of shell as shown in Fig.5
when fitting the bladder.
+ Using grease: JIS No.2 (mineral oil)
+ Applying area: Whole surface
+ Applying method: By hand
+ Applying amount: Form the oil mem-
brance on the whole surface
6. Assemble the accumulator by the reverse
order when overhauling,
7. Make sure that the top cover is perfectly in-
serted into the shell of the accumulator by
the spacer and sectional ring
Fix the retaining ring on the top cover which
is placed on the spacer.
Fit the gas valve in the top cover by the
torque of 24Nm after applying the grease
on the bottom of the gas valve.
8. Remove the overhauling tool after checking
the item 7, again.
9. Fill the accumulator with nitrogen gas as
