Ethnic background, family, and citizenship
It is safe to say that I am a mutt in terms of my ethnic makeup. When given the
option, I always select Hispanic on job applications. Although, this is not how
I would identify myself if asked personally. I feel as though I identify more
closely as Caucasian. My mother is French Canadian, American Indian, and
German. My fathers only known ethnicity is of Hispanic descent. My
grandmother(his mother) was adopted and never knew her biological parents.
Although my last name is rich in Hispanic ancestry, I do not speak Spanish. My
grandfather abandoned his family when my father was young. Therefore, he
never learned Spanish and neither did we. We also never adopted any Mexican or
Hispanic traditions. My family is relatively small. Holidays and family
gatherings are very important to me. I have learned the importance of time and
that memories are far more valuable than money.

Religious beliefs, prejudices, and values

I have fleeting memories of attending church on Sundays as a child with my
mother. I remember being very confused and not fully understanding what I was
being taught. I hated that feeling. My brother and I begged her not to make us go
anymore. She set her beliefs aside and gave us what we wanted. I am very
grateful for this. I now identify myself as an Atheist. I believe that our time on
this earth is all that we have and every moment should be cherished. I have been
a vegetarian for 9 years. I believe that morality is not relative, but absolute.
Although I consider myself to have a high moral standard, I still also carry my
own prejudices and biases. I am prejudice to the intolerant and have very little
patience for the blissfully ignorant.

Goals and interests

Between a full time job and full time school, I rarely have time to dedicate to my
hobbies and interests. But when I do, I take full advantage of it. I enjoy traveling,
hiking, music, reading, cooking and anything that else that inspires me. I have
many goals that I am working towards in my life. I am currently in the beginning
stages of planning the wedding of my dreams to the love of my life. Once I
finish my undergrad, I plan on pursuing a masters degree. Somewhere during all
of this, I also plan to have children and start a family of my own. My personal
goals are very important to me. However, it is also important to me that I support
and help my loved ones achieve their goals as well.
