Application
Instructions
Dispensing
Lightweight aggregates must be saturated with water before preparing the concrete.
SikaLightcrete I-500 is added to the gauging water or added to the concrete mix at
the same time as the gauging water. The mixing time required to achieve a specific
density of fresh concrete depends on the type of mixer used, and the aggregates
and binder in the mix. Thus, trials are recommended to achieve the desired air
content and concrete mix. SikaLightcrete I-500 can also be added into the ready
3
mix truck on site. An additional mixing time of at least 2 minutes per m of concrete
but not less than 5 minutes must be observed. Before being discharged, the
concrete must be tested for density.
