Industrial Design Intern

Dear Mr. Velasquez,

You need an intern with meticulous attention to detail and excellent technological, communication and design skills. My name is
Connor Coffman, and while I am new to a formal industrial design position, I believe that my unique background and past
experiences would make me a valuable addition to your company. My current work at Gestalt Theory has really helped me gain a
better understanding of UI design in my field research and shown me how valuable proper communication is when working with a
team in high stress situations. I heard about this job through career services at ASU.
At Mediphor, I believe I could really learn a great deal and take my design abilities to the next level, while also sharing some of my
unique abilities with coworkers. As a Maker, Video Jockey, Lead Sculptor and status as a Digital Culture and Studio Art student in
my senior year makes me an ideal candidate for the Industrial Design Intern position at Mediphor.
Please take a look at my attached resume for a detailed look at my skills and experience. My specialties though are user
experience, user interaction and 3d design. I come from a nontraditional background design where I typically do not make
many sketches, if I even sketch at all. My strategy is I just start with prototyping small-scale models out of cheap materials
such as cardboard or foam. It allows me to get a better sense of the size, shape, and form then looking at a 2d sketch.
I firmly believe at Mediphor Design I will be able to offer my unique experiences while being able to develop my own design
abilities from mentors that have years of experience.
