Where Australian Defence forces have served since 1948?


These are the places and services the Air force has provided:
1948-49: During the Berlin Air lift, the RAAF has ai ded with the international
effort to fly in supplies and contribute in flying 2,062 sorties and carrying 7,030 tons of
freight and 6,964 passengers.
1950-53: Korean War, aircraft to be deployed, in ground support, combat air patrol, and
escort missions.
1950-60: Malayan Emergency, RAAF took part in operations against the communist
terrorists.
1964-72: Vietnam War, RAAF acted as a transport aircraft.
Present: Military purposes and RAAF aid for other countries.

What have been the main roles they have carried out?
The main roles is the RAAF is to control modern combat and transport aircraft. Air
force supports operations such as air superiority, precision strikes, intelligence,
surveillance and reconnaissance, air mobility, and humanitarian support.

What is the difference between peacekeeping and active duty


roles for defence personnel?
Peacekeeping in Australia is generally unarmed ensuring that both sides
dont violate a ceasefire where as a defence personnel can heavily armed.
Peacekeepers role is to ensure the safety and peace within both sides and
defence personnel can do anything when it comes to defending their side.

Personnel Capability Officer in RAAF identify, prepare and support
personnel from across the Air Force or the wider ADF to deploy on
operations. They ensure the right people are deployed at the right time.
