Dear Fellow Educator,

Ive had the pleasure of supervising Shawna Hendrix in her field experiences
during the spring of 2015 and again in 2016. Ive had the opportunity to observe
Shawnas friendly interactions with both middle and high school students. Ive
seen how much her confidence has blossomed and how her instructional
strategies have grown.
Shawna knows how important it is to engage students in learning. Her lesson
plans were skillfully designed and her expectations were clear. To motivate and
reach students, she appealed to their interests, incorporated technology, and
addressed multiple learning styles. She varied her activities to include whole
group, partner, and independent work. Her structured approach promoted a
comfortable classroom environment.
Shawna followed through on all her responsibilities. She arrived early, was wellprepared, and taught English lessons successfully. Her plans and self-assessments
were always promptly completed and submitted. She collaborated with her
cooperating teacher in a professional manner.
Shawna is caring and conscientious. Her many skills and talents would make her a
positive addition to any school faculty.
