6. Course Description

: The course deals with the study of electric and


magnetic field; resistive, dielectric and magnetic materials; coupled circuits; magnetic
circuits; and time-varying electromagnetic fields. Topics covered are Coulombs law
and electric field intensity of different charge distributions (volume, point, line and
sheet of charge), electric flux density, Gausss law, divergence, potential energy,
potential difference, magnetic flux density, magnetic field intensity, Maxwells
equations and their applications.
