Join other Mid South Hawkeyes for a football season kickoff and the opportunity to meet both old & new Hawkeye
friends. Were inviting all the Mid South students attending Iowa this fall so we can give them an early taste of being a
Hawkeye! To get to the clubhouse, turn south off of Winchester on Oak Club Lane. You will see a white picket fence on
the left that is by the clubhouse. Guest parking is available on two sides of the clubhouse or on the opposite side drive,
please do not block any residents access to the garage or street.
Its a potluck tailgate with the club providing the meat course. Please bring your favorite appetizer, salad, or side dish

Hawkeye Football Game Watch 2016

How can we top last years season which culminated in the Rose Bowl? With many returning players, we just gonna
have to do it again! Join your Memphis IOWA club members and friends to enjoy the 2016 ride! We will once again
have all Game Watches at Tys Smokehouse (7174 Stage Rd, Bartlett, 901-384- 8111, www.tyssmokehouse.com). For
the night games (currently 3 are scheduled thus far), we will have an additional Game Watch location, The Skybox Grill
(2140 W. Poplar Ave, Collierville, 901-854- 0509, www.theskyboxgrilltn.com). We will cheer on the Hawks, eat some
great food, and have some great camaraderie. We will also sell tickets each week for Hawkeye prizes with the proceeds supporting the alumni association, our club general fund, other suggested projects, and project angel tree (which
has been a huge favorite with the end of November game watches). Please watch your email and check the Memphis

Hawkeye Open Golf Tourney

The annual Hawkeye Open Golf Tourney was
held at Forest Hill Golf Course in Drummond,
TN on Sunday May 1st . It was a Great day for
hitting the links and everyone that attended had
a fun time.
We once again extended invitation to the other
Big Ten clubs in the Memphis area, but unfortunately none participated this year. We had a total of 31 golfers this year. The tournament was a
four man(or woman) best shot. Each golfer paid
$60, which included the round of golf with a cart,
lunch and a chance for many door prizes as well
as a chance at the payout for the top 4 teams. We
also sold Mulligans again this year, which could
be used on any shot on the course. There were 2
closest to the pins and a longest drive winners.
The winning team came in at -10 and the highest
scoring team not as good but had fun.
After the round of golf everyone enjoyed BBQ
pork sandwiches, coleslaw, beans prepared by
Tys Smokehouse. After the meal the drawing for
door prizes was held.
Overall, everyone had a great time and look forward to next years tournament, where we hope
to have even more participants. Watch newsletters and emails for next years event.
