DATA:
The tank lowering equipment is composed of a number of trestle assemblies (lifting trestles
with hydraulic climbing jacks) and one common high-pressure oil pump / power pack.
Lowering capacity: 12 metric tons per trestle.
Effective lifting height: 2500 mm.
Effective climb: 95 mm per stroke.
The jacks are connected to pump type:
HP-24-120 at maximum 24 tank trestles (7.5 HP motor)
HP-34-120 at maximum 34 tank trestles (10 HP motor)
HP-45-120 at maximum 55 tank trestles (15 HP motor)
HP-65-120 at maximum 65 tank trestles (20 HP motor)
2 HP-85-120 at maximum 85 tank trestles (30 HP motor)
HP-120-120 at maximum 120 tank trestles (40 HP motor)
Tank top plates, channel supporting the top plates are removed initially, so that there
is no any disturbance for the installation of the hydraulic jack equipment.
After proper assembly of the hydraulic jack, the lower shell of the tank is removed
using gas cutter all along the weld for the effective usage of the plate (Resale).
After removing the bottom shell (first lower shell), remaining shell of the tank is
lowered hydraulically to ground and the next immediate shell of the tank is removed.
Above cycle is repeated.
Last 3 to 4 shell is removed with the help of hydraulic crane, gas cutting is done all
along the weld.
1 piece trestle box with base plate, the trestle box is 3500mm long.
2 piece stay pipe with upper and lower lugs adjustable length. The length of the pipe
is 3180mm
1 piece loading point, it is a point of transfer of load onto jack from trestle arm.
:
The maximum weight of the tank. The vertical load is max 12 ton per trestle
The maximum wind load on the trestles.
The maximum distance between the lifting points in the shell with regard to the
stability of shell.
The normal maximum distance between the trestles is 3 metres.
SECOND STEP:
The trestle box and stay pipes are laid horizontally on the bottom plate and bolted. Stay pipe
are bolted with stud bolt. Loading point, jack, loading arm is fixed to the turtle box and slide
to the end near the base plate. Then the complete assembly is lifted vertically. The hydraulic
is arranged such that it is facing towards the shell plate.
The lower lug (base plate for the stay pipes) is welded such that there are 900mm apart. The
angle formed is in btw 60 to 90 degree. The straightness of the trestle box is adjusted by
rotating the stay pipe
THIRD STEP:
The jack is to be mounted on the trestle box below the loading point (by manually lifting the
loading point and lifting arm) such that the loading point sits on the jack. All the four jaw
lock levers should be on locked or closed position.
Weld the lifting lugs (upper clit) slightly above the point where the arm touches the tank shell
plate. All the lifting lugs should be at the same level along the circumference.
The bottom clit (fend off lugs) are also welded slightly below the jack so that when the jack
slides the entire load is on bottom clit.
FOURTH STEP:
Power pack is place inside the tank. From power pack a main hose is connected to the 4 way
junction box from where the oil is distributed to all other jack.
There are 4 levers in each jack, upper pair and lower pair
First when oil is supplied the upper lever opened the piston extends and after extension of
9cm the lever are closed. Then lower lever and valve is opened the piston contracts due the
tank load.
