Felipe VI of Spain has been the
king since 2014. He is the head
of state and may ratify laws,
dissolve the legislature and
proposes candidates for the
position of Prime Minister. He
is the head of armed forces for
the country of Spain.

Prime Minister
The Prime Minister is the head
of the government and is also
known as the presidente. His
role is to conduct domestic
and foreign policy, civil and
military administration, as well
as the defense of the nation.

Constitution
Adopted in 197, it is focused on basic rights and public liberties,
citizen duties, principles of social and economic policy, structure
of the partial monarchy and parliament.

Autonomous
Regions
Spain is divided into seventeen
separate regions. They have
departments to manage their
finances and are responsible
for the administration of
education, health and social
services.
