Introduction
This document describes the dummy front panel for the NGLT board.

Features and Application Notes

The universal dummy front panel:

Must be mounted on any unused LT slot or NT I/O slot of a subrack

Can be mounted on the following subracks:
a 7302 Intelligent Services Access Multiplexer (ISAM) Flexible Density (FD) LT
subrack

a 7330 ISAM Fiber To The Node (FTTN) FD subrack

7360 ISAM FX subrack

Ensures thermal compliance via a correct airflow in the subrack

Ensures Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) compliance in the subrack
Ensures safety by avoiding direct contact with backplane connectors
Allows optical cable pre-cabling towards boards with eight SC fiber connectors when
required
Is secured to the subrack by screws

Dummy Front Panel for NGLT Board

General Description
Dummy front panels must be mounted on any unused slot of a subrack for the following
purposes:

In case of an active FD-LT subrack:

to ensure thermal compliance via a correct airflow in the subrack
to ensure safety by avoiding direct contact with backplane connectors
To allow optical cable pre-cabling towards boards with SC fiber connectors when
required.
At slot deployment, the dummy front panel is replaced by the appropriate board and
the optical cables are connected to the board.
Table 2 lists the subracks in which the dummy front panels can be used.
