Projects
Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis of Nanoelectromechanical Oscillators
Guide: Prof. Dnyanesh Pawaskar, Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Bombay
Prof. Mandar Inamdar, Civil Engineering Department, IIT Bombay

Analysed the nonlinear dynamic behaviour of doubly clamped nanowire and carbon nanotube
oscillators by modelling them as electrostatically driven Euler-Bernoulli beams
Solved the governing PDE using Galerkin based reduced order modelling technique
Current research work is focused on the effect of nonlinear damping (Van der Pol damping) on the
whirling behaviour of the nano oscillators

Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition, 2016

Guide: Prof. Ramesh K. Singh, Innovation Cell, IIT Bombay

May 2015 June 2016

Mumbai, India

Designed and fabricated a differential robot prototype capable of autonomous navigation

Performed simulations on SolidWorks to optimize the weight of the vehicle by 25%
Reduced assembly time by 40% through intelligent use of aluminium profile sections
Ensured smooth software-hardware interfacing between ROS-based software and relevant sensors
and components GPS, IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), Motor Encoder & Motor Controller

Robowars, Techfest
Innovation Cell, IIT Bombay

June 2016
Oakland University, Michigan, USA

Built an autonomous ground robot capable of negotiating an outdoor obstacle course

Represented India and secured 4th and 5th positions in the Basic and Advanced Auto-Nav
Challenges respectively among 36 teams from across the world
Implemented code architecture for multi-sensor data fusion based on an Extended Kalman Filter
(EKF) by using ROS to interface relevant sensors (GPS, Encoders, IMU)

Mumbai, India

Engineered a differential robot capable of combat for the Middleweight Class (45.4 kg)
Implemented a pneumatic system to power a weapon that flips enemy robots weighing up to 40kg
Finshed Runners-up for Robowars, Techfest 2015-16
Awarded the Excellence in Engineering Award in the previous edition (2014-15)

January 2015
MIT RedX Camp, Mumbai, India

AR-Vein
Guide: Achuta Kadambi, Research Scientist, MIT Media Lab

Developed an augmented reality based vein visualization aid which uses a strap-on infrared camera
system with smart illumination (IR imaging) for mobile phones
Designed the electrical circuit, and calibrated and tweaked the infrared camera allowing it to capture
images of veins invisible to the naked eye
Demonstrated the device to over 200 people including investors and doctors
