The picture below shows, how to connect power supply voltage to the dashboard controllers of cars.
The read lead (hot) is marked with (+) and the black lead (GND) with (-).

PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE
Solder the leads to the ST6249 dashboard controller according to the colours in the picture below.
The microcontroller pin No 21 should be lifted up (unplugged from its socket) or one has to cut the
printed circuit leading to that pin (the pin must not be short connected to the ground of the
dashboard (-)). After reprogramming of the dashboard controller the mentioned pin cannot be reconnected (by plugging-in or soldering) because there is a pull-down resistor inside the internal
structure of the controller chip, which grounds the pin.
