The Ghufaylah Prayer (between Magrib & Isha www.Duas.

org
This prayer consists of two units in the first of which you should recite, after Srah al-Ftiah, the following
verses (Srah al-Anbiy' 21:87-88):

And (mention) Dhu'nN n (Jonah), when he


went off in anger
and deemed that We
would not suppress his
sustenance.

wa dh alnnni idh dhahaba mughiban

faanna an lan naqdira `alayhi

But he cried out in the


darkness,

fand f alulumti

There is no god save


You. Be You Glorified!

an l ilha ill anta subnaka

Lo! I have been a


wrongdoer.

inn kuntu min allimna

Then we heard his prayer


and saved him from the
anguish.

fastajabn lah wa najjaynhu min


alghammi

Thus do we save the


believers.

wa kadhlika nunj almu'minna

In the second unit, you should recite, after Srah al-Ftiah, the following verse (6:59):

And with Him are the keys of the


Invisible.

wa `indahu maftiu alghaybi

None but He knows them.

l ya`lamuh ill huwa

And He knows what is in the land


and the sea.

wa ya`lamu m f albarri
walbari

Not a leaf falls but He knows it,

wa m tasquu min waraqatin


ill ya`lamuh

not a grain amid the darkness of


the earth,

wa l abbatin f ulumti alari

naught of wet or dry

wa l rabin wa l ybisin

but (it is noted) in a clear record.

ill f kitbin mubnin

After that, you should raise your both hands for Qunt, saying:

O Allah, I beseech You in the


name of the Keys of the Invisible
(world)

allhumma inn as'aluka


bimaftii alghaybi

that none knows save You;

allat l ya`lamuh ill anta

(please) send blessings to


Muammad and his Household
and...

an tualliya
`al muammadin wa
lih

You may then mention your needs.Then, say the following:

O Allah, You are the source of the


graces that I have,

allhumma anta waliyyu ni`mat

You have the power to respond to


my request,

walqdiru `al alibat

and You know my needs;

ta`lamu jat

I therefore beseech You in the


name of Muammad and his
Household,

fa-as'aluka biaqqi muammadin


wa lih

peace be upon him and them,

`alayhi wa `alayhimu alssalmu

to grant me my needs.

You may then pray to Him for your personal needs, for it has been narrated that any one who offers this prayer
and supplicates Al
