When making the project proposal I thought I made it very precise enough to
where we would be able to stick to it for the most part. Even though our project
proposal include various dates and assignments I feel as though I have not followed
along with the proposal at all. The research has not been like I thought it would be
as far as just typing in my question and my answers just popping up.
While conducting my research I thought that the different aspects of rape
would be something that had a lot of reliable sources and information behind it.
There are some helpful results that pop-up but I have to use multiple sources to
verify one question and compare certain statistics. One of the particular sections of
research that I run into trouble with are the lasting effects of rape and abuse. When
I started researching this topic I was hoping to find more studies conducted on this
area. Instead more personal stories popped-up which was not that big of an issue
because I can incorporate real stories into the project and give it a more personal
feel. The personal stories will also allow our presentation to take a break from all of
the different statistics. Another area that I was having trouble with was finding short
videos of anything pertaining to the aspects of rape. Most of the videos that appear
are long and boring statistical videos on rape that would put our audience to sleep.
Though none of my initial ideas on rape have changed I was shocked about what I

found about rape prevention. While researching I actually found out that there is a
plastic instrument for women designed to prevent rape.
Overall while conducting research and working on this project the SLO that
was the easiest to me was the critical reflection. The transition from high-school to
college was more about putting meaning behind what I read or wrote about. So
throughout my writing I feel as though critical reflection is where my writing has
improved the most.
