90'' Arsenal have been ripped apart by Lionel Messi, who looks proud as punch with the match

ball
under his arm. He is rightly receiving a standing ovation as the sides leave the field.
90'' Barcelona will meet Inter Milan in the semi final after a stunning display at Camp Nou tonight.
90'' And that's it. The final whistle is blown.
90'' We have a couple of minutes left here, Arsenal look shellshocked.
90'' Arsenal force a corner in stoppage time. Eboeue's corner finds Eduardo and his header is over the
bar.
89'' Arsenal have been well and truly thumped here tonight.
89'' Messi has been relatively quiet in the second half, but there's no keeping the man down.
88'' Do I need to tell you who's scored? It's Messi! Eboeue is caught slightly out of position and
Messi capitilises by picking the ball up and running to goal, he beats the challenge of Vermaelen to
shoot. His initial shot is saved by Almunia and the composed Messi had a second bite and nutmegged
Almunia with a low shot from close range.
87'' GOAL! 4-1 BARCELONA!
86'' Iniesta gets a run out after a period sidelined through injury, to the delight of the Catalan fans.
85'' Barca sub: Iniesta on for Pedro.
84'' Great play by Barca, Alves is released down the right but is offside. That was the end of a
beautiful passing move by Barca.
83'' Arsenal are huffing and puffing but look out of their depth at the moment. Barca are playing in
second gear.
82'' Arsenal break and Walcott is through, he hits the outside of the post with his shot but the flag is
up. It wouldn't have counted.
81'' Messi torments the Arsenal defence again, he dribbles past most of them twice but eventually
loses out to Vermaelen as he tries to put the ball on his favoured left foot inside the box.
80'' Pedro has decent effort after making space on the edge of the box, but he pulled his right-footed
shot wide of the left post.
79'' Arsenal need a pick-me-up because they are lacking all that courage that saw them claw back the
first leg to 2-2.
77'' Alves forces a corner off Clichy.
76'' Clichy's had a good night but that was a waste.
75'' Clichy races forward again and had the option of passing to Eduardo but tried an ambitious shot
from distance which goes high and wide.
74'' The second half is now drifting towards a tepid conclusion. Barca are closing this game down in
the way you'd expect them to.
73'' And that's the end of Rosicky's night. You have to say, he's had a bit of a stinker tonight.
72'' Arsenal sub: Eduardo on for Rosicky
71'' Bendtner hits the post with a header! Great early cross by Clichy from the left who finds Bendtner,
whose powerful header hits the right post. Good header, but Arsenal needed that to hit the back of the
net.
70'' Barcelona are awarded a free kick and it's taken very quickly, catching Arsenal out. Pedro is
played in on goal and hits it wide of the right post. He needed more composure there.
68'' Diaby plays in Rosicky on the edge of the box(although he was looking for Bendtner) and Rosicky
takes it first time with his right foot and puts it hopelessly over the bar. Rosicky will be disappointed
with that, he should have made the keeper work.
67'' That didn't take long, did it? Eboeue has been cautioned for striking Busquets in the face as he
held off his challenge, but in fairness to Eboeue that looked harsh. Wenger certainly thought so.
66'' Yellow card: Eboeue (Arsenal)
64'' Perhaps that substitution will give Arsenal the extra dimension they need going forward.
63'' Arsenal sub: Eboeue on for Silvestre
62'' Arsenal are keeping the ball and at least making Barca work, but are looking a little short of ideas
as they go forward.
61'' Clichy tries a speculative shot from distance. In truth, it was more awful than speculative.
60'' Bendtner finds himself in front of goal but a bad touch has let him down. Diaby's ball to Bendtner
was good but one more pass to the overlapping Walcott may have been the better option.
59'' Clichy makes a good run forward but Nasri's return ball to Clichy is cut out.
58'' However, they lose the ball under very little pressure. Arsenal need to raise the intensity if theyt
are to worry Barcelona.
57'' Arsenal are breeding some confidence however, with a period of possession.
56'' Barca are looking rather comfortable here. Walcott has been disarmed and Nasri's influence is
waning.
55'' That substitution means Xavi will probably play a little further up the pitch, while Toure plays in
front of the defence.
54'' Barca sub: Yaya Toure on for Bojan
53'' Messi skips forward and finds Pedro who lays it off to Bojan, who shoots wide.
52'' Barca sub: Maxwell on for Abidal.
52'' And that looks like the end of Abidal's night as he hobbles to the touchline.
52'' Play has stopped while Abidal is receives treatment.
51'' Theo Walcott tries to play in Sagna put his pass goes straight out for a throw to Barca.
50'' Xavi plays a great ball to Alves who gets into a great position on the right, but tries to beat his
man but loses it.
49'' Pedro's ball into Messi is perfect, but Messi couldn't quite connect with the ball as he slid in.
48'' Bendtner almost finds Clichy, who makes a goalwards run, but the ball from Bendtner is off
target.
47'' Barca are showing good pressure on Walcott, whenever he has the ball.
46'' Incidentally, Messi's hat-trick makes him Barcelona's all-time highest scorer in the Champions
League, overtaking Rivaldo.
46'' Here we go again. Arsenal kick off the second half, and kick from left to right.
45'' That was the Lionel Messi show. The pint-sized Argentine had three chances and finished all
three with aplomb. At half time at Camp Nou, it's Messi 3-1 Arsenal. See you in 15 minutes.
45'' And the ref blows for half time, very little stoppage time added.
44'' Nasri plays a very hopeful throughball to Walcott, but not even the blisteringly fast Walcott can
reach that.
44'' Rosicky lunges in on Marquez rather late. A clear yellow card.
44'' Yellow card: Rosicky (Arsenal)
43'' And Messi is put through again, but a poor touch (yes a poor touch!) means the ball just ran away
from him.
42'' This is a stunning display of football from Messi. He has his hat-trick. Messi is put through after
Abidal's header put it in his path and with Almunia coming out to stop him, Messi delicately and
beautifully scoops it over him. A stunning finish from a stunning footballer.
41'' GOAL! 3-1 BARCELONA
39'' Wenger is looking somewhat pertubed in the dug out.
38'' Sagna plays a 1-2 with Walcott but his cross his cut out.
37'' Messi has turned this around for Barca in 16 minutes, but this doesn't change the outlook for
Arsenal that much. They still need to score.
37'' And it's Messi again. Abidal breaks down the left and his cross eventually finds Messi after
being played in by Pedro. Messi take a touch and slots it past Almunia with his right foot.
36'' GOAL! 2-1 BARCELONA!
35'' Alves puts in a low dangerous cross from the right towards Bojan, but Silvestre does just enough
to clear.
34'' Xavi is fouled yet again. This time by Nasri.
34'' Bendtner thinks he is through on goal but the flag is up. Close, but he is offside.
33'' Arsenal win an attacking throw down the right.
32'' Alves has fouled Rosicky just inside the Barca half.
31'' Messi torments Silvestre by twisting and turning his way into the box but his shot hits the side
netting.
30'' Yellow card: Denilson (Arsenal)
29'' Messi is down after fighting through 3 or 4 tackles. Denilson stops Messi with a fantastic tackle
but the referee books him. Awful decision, nothing wrong with that tackle.
28'' Walcott is fouled by Busquets, very cynically indeed.
27'' Bojan is fouled by Vermaelen, who is climbing all over the back of him.
26'' Diaby is dispossessed and Barca attack down the right, but Pedro's cross is overhit and out for an
Arsenal goal kick.
24'' The corner comes to nothing. Barca goal kick.
23'' Clichy gets the chance to cross in for Bendtner but Alves recovers well to block for a corner to
Arsenal.
22'' Bojan is looking for a foul after clashing with Silvestre, but the ref waves play on.
21'' Arsenal's lead lasted all of 2 minutes.
20'' Phenomenal strike by Messi. Who else? That was from absolutely nothing. Messi steps aside
from Silvestre's challenge and the ball bounced back off the French defender to give Messi a sight of
goal. Messi struck it from the edge of the box in typical Messi fashion. Lovely goal.
19'' GOAL! 1-1
18'' Diaby has a golden opportunity to play in Walcott but plays it to Bendtner on the left and the
move breaks down.
17'' Huge huge goal against the run of play. Walcott picked up the ball and used his pace to get
away and squared it to Bendter who scores at the second attempt. Big goal.
17'' GOAL! 1-0 ARSENAL
16'' He hobbled off to receive treatment, and has just hobbled back on.
16'' And Nasri is struggling after that challenge.
15'' Milito puts a crunching tackle in on Nasri. Hard but fair.
14'' The foul has been given after Bendtner shoved Milito under a header.
13'' Both coaches are patrolling their technical areas like pumas.
12'' Messi feeds Alves, whose cross from the right is blocked.
11'' Messi tries a shot from the edge of the box. He only had a foot of space to get that shot away, but
that's all he needs. Just dipping too late and a foot or so over.
10'' Clichy ran into an attacking position to win the ball and Rosicky had to cover him at left back
while Barca counter attacked. The move ends with Pedro pulling his shot wide of the left post.
9'' Sagna pressures Abidal into giving away a throw, good pressure by Arsenal.
8'' Bendtner is adjudged to have fouled Daniel Alves. That was very soft.
7'' Diaby has been given a stiff talking to instead.
7'' Diaby has caught Xavi very late there and escapes a yellow card. That was a clear yellow for me.
6'' Rosicky is unlucky not to earn a free kick after being barged on the edge of the box by Marquez.
Rosicky was unlucky there.
5'' Barca force another corner which is cleared to Walcott, who is tripped by Milito. Arsenal free kick.
4'' Excellent early pressure by Barca.
4'' Messi almost delivers an early blow to Arsenal, brilliant shot across goal which Almunia palms out
for a corner.
3'' Xavi backheels Abidal's cross goalwards but it doesn't trouble Almunia.
2'' Xavi is fouled by Diaby on the half way line.
1'' Of course Milito's brother awaits the winner of this tie with Inter beating CSKA 2-0 on aggregate
earlier.
1'' Milito hits a long ball for Messi but it goes straight into the hands of Almunia.
1'' Barca kick us off, and kick from left to right.
0'' Almunia is Arsenal's captain in the absence of Cesc Fabregas, and is lining up with Xavi and the
officials in the centre circle.
0'' Arsenal will play in their away strip of white shirts, blue shorts and white socks.
0'' The players are lined up on the legendary Camp Nou turf and we're moments away from what
could be a monumental battle.
0'' Barcelona are without striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swede hurt his calf in the warm-up

Gerard Pique are both banned.
0'' Arsenal are without midfielder Alex Song for tonight's Champions League quarter-final second
leg at Barcelona as he has knee and groin injuries. The Gunners are already missing captain Cesc
