Artifacts
Historians use many different resources to learn about the past, especially
before the Internet, television, photographs, and writing. Sometimes the
only things that historians have to analyze are the things that are left
behind, which are called artifacts. Anything can be an artifact. This year we
will be looking at many artifacts from the past to learn about ancient
civilizations or societies that existed before the modern world.
You will be presenting three artifacts to the class that would tell someone
from the future about you. Your artifacts can be anything that is important to
you. If you can not bring the actual item you can bring a photograph. Along
with your artifacts your are to write a minimum of three sentences
explaining what it is, the significance (why you choose it), and what it would
tell a future historian about your life.
