Family Area
PROPOSED SOLUTION:
Because the owner wanted to create a special place for the grandparents for
their vacation aside from the necessary rooms of the family members I
created another room on the ground floor for them. I put the room there so
that it would be easier for them to move around and to avoid accidents
because of aging. Also when the grandparents are not around the room
located on the ground floor can serve as a guestroom for visitors that wanted
to stay in the house.
I maximized the lot by only using the required spaces needed by the owner.
I intentionally made the living and the family area big because Filipinos are
family oriented so they needed more space for gatherings and chats.
To be able to comply with sustainability I created big windows to let the
sunlight go inside the house during day time I created canopies so that the
sunlight will not directly hit the house so that it will not produce a lot of heat.
Also I created balconies on both west part of the house to lessen the heat
inside the house and to let the air go inside to lessen the use of aircons and
electric fans also these balconies can serve as leisure areas inside the house.
