Bio Medical Lab Series
Bio Medical Lab Series
Biomedical Engineering has only recently emerged as an independent discipline, compared to many
other engineering fields. Such evolution is common when a new field transitions from being an
interdisciplinary specialization among already established fields, to being considered a field in itself. NI
Biomedical Lab Series enables researchers to perform further advanced research and students to
perform their final year project work in biomedical related applications in college.
Much of the work in Biomedical Engineering consists of research and development, spanning a broad
array of subfields including the development of biocompatible prostheses; various diagnostic and
therapeutic medical devices ranging from clinical equipment to micro-implants; common imaging
equipment such as MRIs and EEGs; biotechnologies such as regenerative tissue growth; and
pharmaceutical drugs and biopharmaceuticals.
National Instruments provides an environment for conducting experiments with different bio-electric
signals. The environment allows graphical programming for acquisition, analysis and presentation of
various signals. Even imaging acquisition, processing and display can be performed for a variety of
Biomedical Engineering applications such as Cell Counting, X-Ray Image Analysis and Microscope
Imaging. National Instruments' highly integrated tools increase productivity in the development of
Biomedical engineering applications.
