Body Found in Lake Travis Identified

At 10:43 am on August 16, 2016 TCSO received a call that a body had been discovered on the shoreline
at South Shore Marina, 5931 Hiline Rd. That body has been positively identified as:

OLMAN RAMIREZ age 25 of Austin, TX

At 7:30 pm on Friday August 12, 2016 Travis County Sheriffs Office Lake Patrol Deputies responded to
a report of a missing adult male who was last seen in the channel near Starnes Island. Deputies searched
for the missing man until dark and throughout the day Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, a DPS vessel
equipped with tow fish sonar searched the area where the man was reportedly last seen and extended that
search to include areas of the lake where it was possible he could have drifted.

The morning of Tuesday August 16, 2016 as deputies were mapping out shallow water surface searches
and awaiting the arrival of a cadaver dog to assist in shoreline searches, the Ramirez family located the
body while conducting their own search of the surrounding shoreline.
The Travis County Medical Examiner has ruled the manner of Ramirezs death accidental and the cause
drowning.
