Basic Arrangement of a Feeder Bay

Busbar /Breaker /CT Feeder

Breaker position is configured and

therefore taken into account in order
to have selective tripping in case of
an End-Fault.

By only taken the aux. contacts of the

breaker it is possible that an Arc
causes tripping in case the Arc is
coming earlier as the aux. contacts.
Therefore the Close-Command is
also taken into account for the
measurement. This ensures that the
CT is already assigned to the busbar
protection before the arc occurs

REB500: Breaker Closed

Busbar (Protection) zone till CT

CT is assigned to the Busbar Protection

End-Fault blocked as Breaker is closed

Conclusion
Close Command should be applied in case

Busbar /Breaker /Feeder arrangements,

AND

Breaker position is configured and used by

the BBP. From version 7.0x it can be selected
that the Breaker position is either used not
used for the BBP. In older versions the
breaker position is always used in case it is
engineered in the set-file.

Close Command can be initiated by:

Local Manual Close Command Switch

Auto-Reclosing Device

SCS

Therefore make sure that all this commands

are applied towards REB500.
