Essay Writing

An essay is a piece of writing that is written to convince, persuade or inform its

audience about a particular issue or topic. A well-planned essay contains an
introduction, body paragraphs and a finishes with a conclusion - all of which have
their own separate purpose.
To write the perfect introduction, writers must first know what it is they will be
discussing in their essay. Introductions are designed to brief their reader on the
issues and opinions that will be raised in the rest of the essay. I ntroductions do
not contain quotations. When writing an introduction, it is important to order
provide readers with a road map with what is happening next.
Body paragraphs should mirror the topics that have been raised in your
introduction. It is essential to set these body paragraphs in an order that makes
sense to your reader and the way your novel is read. Transitioning from sentence
to sentence is incredibly important - and using evidence such as quotes and
references can assist in asserting your ideas. At the end of each body paragraph,
ensure that you link your writing to your essay topic.
A conclusion is written to resemble your introduction - but dont get caught
repeating yourself! It is best not to mention quotations in this passage as well. It is
an opportunity for the writer to tie up their argument and leave their reader with
something important to think about.
