OLD CHAT: Soadmittedly, the Amphicar may have some limitations as both a car
and a boat. But Jerry OBara and other Amphicar enthusiasts prefer to think of it as
the fastest car in the water and the best boat on land. The front wheels steer
the vehicle on land and water. And if you trust your door seals, you can tie your
Amphicar to a dock and let it float for days.
One famous owner --- President Lyndon Johnson. He is said to have liked terrifying
guests by driving his car down a hill at his Texas ranch into a lake, all the while
shouting that his breaks werent working.

OLD CHAT: Lake Cochituate is indeed a great success story, but the milfoil will never
be totally eradicated. The goal at this point is managing the problem. Still
dramatic improvements.

And theyre calling it the Lost Summer at White Pond in Concord -- still under a
swimming ban. A real blow for this pristine kettle pond--often considered Waldens
little sister, and which Thoreau himself called a gem in the woods and a lake of
light
NEW CHAT: White Pond in Concord is no longer experiencing algae bloom in large
part thanks to the Town of Concord spending $166,000 on fixing erosion sites, but
conservation efforts are still in full force due to the fact that water levels are still
low. Nonetheless, Christine Gerzon says that this is a true success story for White
Pond and its residents. In addition to their facebook page, detailed information
