Notes: Minor Bridge.

Concrete:
1. The grade of concrete shall be m-50 (crushing strength of 50 mpa on cubes at 28
days). minimum cube strength at release of tendons shall be 40 mpa.
2. Dimensioned length of plank is required length of finished product. At the time of
casting, overall length shall be adjusted to allow for the elastic shortening due to
application of prestress.
3. PS slab shall be cast horizontal.
Reinforcement:
4. Clear cover to reinforcement shall be as noted.
5. Reinforcement spacings not noted shall be taken equal.
6. Bars shall be bent around a 4d dia pin unless noted otherwise.
Prestressing:
7. Tendons shall be 12.7 mm dia . "stress - relieved" super grade low - relaxation
strand to IS 14268 (minimum breaking load shall be 184 kn.)
8. Total initial force in tendons shall be 2760kn (equivalent to 138 KN per tendon)
after allowance has been made for losses in grips, jackets etc.
9. Total calculated final prestress is 1940kn (equivalent to 97 KN per tendon) at midspan after long term losses.
10. Calculated hog on transfer of prestress 18mm.
11. Estimated hog after 3 months 27mm.
Lifting and handling:
12. Concrete cube strength at lifting shall be 40 mpa.
13. Calculated mass of ps slab is 11.0 tonne (at 2650 kg /cu.m)
14. PS slabs shall be lifted only by lifting loops provided and shall be stored and
transported on temporary supports located not more than 600 mm from ends of
PS slab.
15. The angle between slings along the ps slab center line shall not exceed 90.
General:
16. Calculated mid span deflection due to mass of cast in place concrete overlay is
8mm.
17. Sheathing shall consist of smooth PVC tubing (15mm max.id) and maximum wall
thickness of 1mm.
