THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION:
Question: Where is the Listening or Mindfulness crystal?
Answer: You receive two of them when you recruit Badeaux. Bring Shiro to
him and make sure you have a level three castle.
Q: Where can I get a Thunder Rune?
A: Finally! You can get one by taking the path past where you got attacked
by Gorudo, came back later and go past that area and you'll come to his

Phew... Also you can get them from the enemies Cockatrice.
Q: Can you save Nanami or Kiba?
A: Even the guys at XG ( Expert Gamer-the magazine) say there
is no way to save Kiba. But as for Nanami you can if you have all 108
Stars of Destiny before you invade Rockaxe. Read the Endings Guide for
a more detailed description.
THE 2nd MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION:
Q: What does the Spark rune do?
A: Thanks to Chris Yap ( chris@yaps.com) for the help: it makes
everyone who has a slower speed than the character equipped with
it-have the same speed as the character equipped.
Q: What runes can be used on weapons?
A: Other than those that specifically say WPN, you can add
a normal element rune such as *FIRE to your weapon to do 1/4 more
damage. The list of elemental runes that can be used is as follows:
*FIRE/LIGHTNING-adds 1/4 damage after attack.
*RAGE-adds 1/2 damage to attack.
*THUNDER-same as above except it's a lightning element
*WATER-restore 5 HP each turn.
*FLOWING-restore 15 HP each turn
*WIND-repel magic 5%
*CYCLONE-repel magic 15%
*EARTH-def+5 restores 3 HP each turn
*MOTHER EARTH-def+15 % HP healed each turn
Q: How does the *MEDICINE rune work?
A: The character equipped with it will skip the commands entered and
use Medicine on allies that are low on HP-crouching down.
Q: What do the *KINDNESS-WPN rune and *FRIENDSHIP-WPN runes do?
A: The kindness rune goes best with the hero since it raises his attack
level
the most. For me the increase was about +80. However later on in the game it
raised my attack by over 100! It seams to increase attack power every once

and a while for no apparent reason. For example it went up while I was looking
at my armor. Maybe it goes up for every hour or so you play the game. It raised
Nanami's attack by about +50 so she is probably your second choice. The
friendship rune on the other hand seems to be the same for everyone, raising
attack by 1/2 the amount of recruits.
Q: What's the point of using the Defend command in battle?
A: Just like in one-on-one battles it increases your chance of
getting a counter attack.
Q: How long is Richmond gone for when you ask him to find out stuff?
A: Just over ten minutes.
Q: Where is the hidden ninja town of Rokkaku?
A: On the way to Gregminster from Banner village, on the screen after
the one with the ladders. Right before the exit you'll notice two trees
that look different, go down from there through the trees.
Q: How do you get in to the blocked room in Radat town item shop?
A: Viki will accidentally warp you in there sometimes. You have to keep
trying to warp as usual and eventually she will goof up and send you there.

RARE RUNES LIST
( LISTENING ) CRYSTALS: These are not actually runes but are used to recruit
2 or more characters. Read the Faq questions above.
*DOUBLE-BEAT: Received from the CutRabbit enemies you battle early
in the game, on the North Sparrow Pass. You can also take one off Gijimu.
~ Usefulness ******** 2 attacks in one turn!!!!!
*TECHNIQUE: Gained from the same enemies as above.
~ Usefulness **** Steal extra money when you attack. (Hoi has one of these.)
*FURY: Rare Finds in the rune shop in Muse.
~ Usefulness ****** always berserk (1.5x damage)!! SPECIAL NOTE:
Equip on Oulan to have the ability to use her Rune as many times as you
want.

*WALL: Received from the enemy called Sunking in the Cave of Wind.
~ Usefulness * 2x defence can only defend but you can at least counter.
*GALE: Received from the enemies called Sickles-orange things
you find around Greenhill early in the game.
~ Usefulness * 1.5x speed
*MEDICINE: Received from Flying Squirrel enemies around
South Window/Radat/Kuskus town.
~ Usefulness ** read the Faq for more info

*DRAINING: Can be bought in Greenhill academy by talking to the

runemaster-Jeane's student and buying it when it appears in the Rare Finds
~ Usefulness ** heals HP when you do a critical hit, equip Killer rune for
a higher percent chance.
*FIRE-LIZARD-WPN: A useful rune (if you have a *fire-sealing as well) found
in the Sindar ruins while trying to help Alex.
Usefulness **** 1.5x damage but you suffer damage too, equip *Fire-Sealing
*CHIMERA: Found on the way out of Greenhill while escaping with Teresa.
~ Usefulness ???? Haven't figured this one out yet.
*FRIENDSHIP-WPN: Found in South Window at a small Bonsai on the
far right of town.
~ Usefulness ****** read the Faq for more info.
*KINDNESS-WPN: Found in the vegetable pot right by the ship at
Lakewest town.
~ Usefulness *********** Check out the Faq for details.
*DOUBLE-STRIKE: Received from the enemy called Eagleman in the Kobold
town forest called Unicorn Forest (while on the Hix/Tengaar subquest)
~ Usefulness *****1.5x damage to enemy and you.
SPECIAL NOTE: Does not affect magic damage. Useful for the last boss
*EXERTION-WPN: Found in a pot just outside the chief's house in the southern
Kobold village.
~ Usefulness ********* Damage goes up each turn, 2x damage after 6 turns!!
*SYLPH: Received from the enemy called Pinkbird around the Matilda area.
~ Usefulness ** give 1/3 of your HP to allies.
*ALERT-WPN: Found in a boat (or barrel) sitting by the water in Banner
village.
~ Usefulness ****** 1.5x magic damage!!!!
*BLINKING: Given to you by a person in Rokkaku village.
~ Usefulness *** Viki's rune!!!
*BARRIOR: Received from the enemies called RinRin, RanRan and TenTen
or something, found on the path to the Toran Republic. The ninjas that
always attack in groups of three.
~ Usefulness **** repel magic 10%
*CYCLONE: Given to you by a person in the Gregminster Inn.
~ Usefulness **** most powerful Wind spells.
*DARKNESS: Can be bought in the South Window rune shop about half
way through the game.
~ Usefulness *** Sierra's rune-pretty powerful.
*VIOLENCE: Found in Rockaxe in the appraisal shop. Search the bookshelf.
~ Usefulness ********** When you take 1/2 your total amount of HP of damage
( can cure in the meantime) you become berserk and do many, many times
damage. Like 4x or even more.
*FIREFLY: Dropped by the enemies called Airdragons on your way to
Tigermouth village.
~ Usefulness ** makes enemies target this character.

*FIRE-SEALING: Dropped by the enemies called Unicombie in the Tinto mine.

~ Usefulness **** use on Zazma, or persons equipped with Fire Lizard-Wpn
rune.
*RAGE: Given to you by Jeane's replacement when you finally liberate
Greenhill late in the game. (The runemaster in the school).
~ Usefulness ****** most powerful Fire spells. Definitely try adding this
to your weapons
*MOTHER EARTH: Given to you by Gustav after you beat Neclord.
~ Usefulness *** most powerful Earth spells. The final spell is a
must for the last boss.
*SUNBEAM: Given to you by the chief in Crom after you beat Neclord.
~ Usefulness **** recover lots of HP! By walking and during battle.
*FLOWING: Given to you by the person in the basement of the runeshop
in Muse after you liberate it.
~ Usefulness ***** add it to weapon to recover 15 HP each turn, also
most powerful Water spells.
*HUNTER-WPN: Get one from the Guardian plans by using the combination
Unicorn, Unicorn, Turtle, Unicorn. Thanks Ray Watts for this one
(raven9807@yahoo.com) Or you can find it by searching the large tree behind
your old house in Kyaro Town, during the ending.
~ Usefulness ?????? Not quite sure-your damage is reduced to 1 and you have
only a 5% chance of hitting the enemy. If you do connect the enemy will drop
an item. Then just use magic to finish them off. I tried to just get a
counterstrike but even if you do it doesn't count as a hit.
SPECIAL NOTE: Don't try and get two items from enemies-they will only drop
ONE at a time with this Rune.

Kingdom.
Potato seedling 2: Banner village, topmost house at the right of the path.
Talk to the woman at the far right inside the house and she'll give it to you.

desk on the right side of the room.
- Old Book Volume 2: Found in the Sindar ruins (while helping Alex).

- Old Book Volume 3: Rare Find in the item shop of South Window.
- Old Book Volume 4: In the bookshelves in Muse Mayor's building you can
find a ? book. Have it appraised.
- Old Book Volume 5: In Greenhill academy-first floor-the study room.
Search the RIGHT side of the bookshelf.
- Old Book Volume 6: Given to you by a man in the Forest village trading
center.
- Old Book Volume 7: Found in the bookshelf in the room where the shrine for
McDohl is. Gregminster castle.

ARMOR EQUIPPING LIST
This is for the best equipment you can use for your characters.
Look down the list for any characters you plan on using near the end.
This will help you make sure you are using the best you have.
First the stuff you can buy:
Half Helmut: All except animals of course, can equip this.

Head Gear: All can equip except those that equip Full Helmuts.

Silver Hat: Same as above and my personal choice for the bulk
of the characters.

Wind Hat: Same as above-slightly more defence but it doesn't recover HP so I
still prefer the Silver Hat. Find these in Tinto as a Rare Find.

Full Helmut: The following can equip these: Bolgan, Hanna, Rikimaru,
Freed Y, Futch, Humphrey, Oulan, Gengen, Badeaux, Miklotov, Camus, Kahn,
Huaser, Lorelai, Gijimu, Lo Wen, and Goerg.

Horned Helmut: The above listed characters can equip these. These are
Rare Finds in Sajah village.
------------------ROBES: Nanami, Ellie, Rina, Tuta, Millie, Tsai, Tengaar, Luc, Chaco, Sid,
Meg, Shilo, Karen, Tomo, Viki, Gantetsu, Sierra, Nina, Zazma, Bob, Yoshino,
