Course Objectives:
Be able to analyze some real problem and to formulate the conditions of theory of
elasticity application
Be able to execute a reasonable choice of parameters of the model (geometry, material
properties, boundary conditions)
Be able to analyze the result of solution by standard computational programs

Course Contents:

The theory of elasticity as a part of deformable solid theory. External and internal forces.

Octahedral stress. Spherical tensor and deviator.

Infinitely small element equilibrium.

Ostrogradsky Gaus formula and equilibrium equations

Displacements and strains.

Strain state. Small strain tensor

Principal directions of deformation and principal strains

Strain spherical tensor and deviator. Infinitely small rotation
