To: Whom It May Concern

My name is Adam Harper, Teacher at St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School, in
Hammond ON. I am writing this reference letter on behalf of Ginny Callaghan. Ginny was the
2011 Relay for Life Head Chair and her work was consistently of high standard. Relay is a 12
hour Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser where teams of 10 raise money and walk the track all
night to raise funds and awareness that cancer never sleeps. Our committee headlined by Ms.
Callaghan, was responsible for making the night one that no participant could forget. This
included food, games, entertainment, live bands, circus tents, lighting, and an action packed
itinerary that kept participants going all night long. She was responsible for planning and
implementing countless fundraisers and events throughout the school year to make the event
possible. Our goal was to raise $4000 as a team to cover all costs at the Relay for Life event. The
event was held on June 4th and it was an overwhelming success. The Relay for Life committee,
ST.FX students, parents and staff raised a combined $22000! Throughout high school Ginny, has
always been a part of the event and I had the pleasure of working with her for the last two years.
Ginny was an invaluable asset to our team. She has excellent interpersonal and
communication skills and she can work independently or as part of a team. She utilized
exceptional time management skills and was able to complete tasks within strict deadlines.
Ginny successfully adapted her enthusiastic nature to suit the needs of the committee and worked
very well with fellow committee members. She proved herself as a pinnacle leader for our team.
Furthermore, Ginny went above and beyond her duties by regularly volunteering her time to run
extra activities and remain after school to ensure all the little things were taken care of.
Ginny was able to build effective working relationships with teachers, parents, students,
admin staff, our Vice Principal and our Principal. Her general sense of humour and positive
outlook was contagious among committee members. She was always courteous and willing to
offer assistance to any staff and team member. In her work, Ginny demonstrated a high level of
professionalism, integrity and commitment.

Yours truly,
Adam Harper
