chapter1. A promise
I remembered the last words of my grandpapa to me, I was six then, he said, don't forget to continue
our family's legacy. After almost ten years, I still took his words seriously. I, Bianca Gomez was the
heir to the Gomez estate but the only condition is to find a suitable husband from the last four
remaining families of our kind. The problem is there are only two families that I had close contact, the
Sanchezs and the Pulzos. The Sanchezs own most of the hotels and casinos in Las Vegas and some in
new york and the Pulzos own the shipping lines in the east coast. Some of the grandsons are more than
my friends, they are like my brothers. The twins, Jeremiah and David Sanchez and Adam Pulzo are my
classmates from prep school. We got separated when we went to middle school. Except for Angela
Pulzo who also attend the St. Catherine all girls private school. The other two families, the Perenys and
the Torrezs went to different paths. There bussinesses went bankrupt and they could not handle the
pressure the American ways anymore. The Perenys went back to our homeland Italy. But the Torrezs
remained in America but moved from Manhattan, New York to New Jersey where they lived an
ordinary life. Since my grandpapa died ten years ago, these families could not protect themselves. I
know they respected and loved him but mostly they needed him. Jeremy, David, Adam, Angela, the
others and I are different because we are the remaining Mafia families.
