Sinners In The Hands of An Angry God
Jonathan Edward was a philosopher. He is the last Puritans, and have strong
beliefs in God. Personally, I dont agree nor dislike his ideas and beliefs in God.
However, I disagree with his vision of the sinners, and how he describe of an Angry
God.
In the reading of Sinners In The Hands of An Angry God, Jonathan Edward
believe that when God is angry, he will go berserk. ... God is dreadfully provoked, his
anger is as great toward them as to those that are actually suffering the executions of
the fierceness of His wrath in hell (page.106). Edward believe that when God is
angry, he will punish anyone when he see them. I totally disagree with his idea. In my
belief, God is someone who has the very high position. Furthermore, he must have a
very hard time to think before he decide to do something, because his decisions are
very important. Base on that, God wasnt someone who uncareful about his choice, and
blame on anyone for his anger. The wrath of God is like great waters that are damaged
for the present, they increase more and more and more, and rise higher and higher
(pg.108). Another reason for me to disagree on his belief is God will never stop his
angry. I believe that even when God is unlike human, but his feeling are similar to our
feeling. Sometime he may be sad, angry or want to flip the table, but he still know how
to smile, how to love, and be happy. He maybe be so incensed, but he will not alway
angry. Edward believe that nothing can stop it because its alway increase. Maybe
Jonathan Edward are over thinking, that is why he think that God are very sensitive.

In my conclusion, different people have different belief. I may not agree of his
believe but other people may agree with Jonathan Edward idea about God. However,
everyman is entitled to their own opinions. In my point of view, I think that God wasnt
real. Human may have an imagined of God in their own opinions to have a belief in their
religion.
