Exercise Two
As I scroll through my Facebook feed, I have in mind that I should be looking for a
picture that is worthy enough to write about. The well-known saying a picture is worth a
thousand words. I can think a couple of words that come to mind; alarming and alluring. You
see four construction worker on top of a very of a small platform that can just nearly hold up all
of them.
The publisher is Wilshire Grand which is where the skyscraper is located in downtown
Los Angeles. It is the tallest building west of the Mississippi River according to ABC 6 News.
The photo looks authentic. For one reason, the location of this building is in a vastly populated
city. Anyone can go see if it is what it appears to be on social media. Another reason is that there
is videos linked to news sources about how the workers happily took a picture on top of the
building.
The message this picture is conveying is residents of Downtown Los Angeles now have
bragging rights, that the residents should be proud of this historical event. Especially how the
construction workers pose like it is the norm to have their picture taken on a 1099 feet tall
building with no railings or anything to catch themselves if wind picks up. This photo makes
viewers feel that they shouldnt be afraid of such fears like the fears of height. That you can
never stop growing.

This picture is directed to the people of Los Angeles because of where this picture was
taken and where it has its impact in the world. This picture wouldnt have a an impact in Georgia
because the state could care less. An impaction of a photo really depends on the audience and
thats what I have acknowledged writing this assignment.
