Pastels, paints, magazines and other media for creating images on altered
books or folded paper to make a fold out book.

Goal:

To understand and internalize the four aspects of Te Whare Tapa Wha and
gain cultural understanding and competence.

Method/
Process:

The facilitator reads the descriptions of the four wals of Te Whare Tapa Wha.
After each reading the participants use the media to express what the
concept encapsulates visually.

I enjoyed this very hands on approach to a subject I have learnt about a lot in
the theoretical realm. I did however find it difficult to determine the
boundaries and differences between the four walls or pillars of the model.
They all seemed to meld into one.
